As Canada’s largest TEDx event, TEDxToronto is a platform for exceptional ideas and a catalyst of profound change. Every year, a theme is chosen for the conference’s marketing initiatives and to provide inspiration for the event’s speakers, performers and delegates. Inspired by the current events in the world, the theme for 2020’s event was Uncharted.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, TEDxToronto’s 2020 model changed from an in-person event to a series of online events. Over 2,500 people attended the digital conference.

Uncharted forces us to ask ourselves, “how can we see the larger picture, find sources of hope, and balance our individual goals with what we owe to each other? Most importantly: how do we build a new vision and realize the power each of us have to chart a better course?”

For the first time ever, the event also aired on Canada's largest privately owned television network, CTV, as a one-hour special titled Ideas for a Better World: TEDxToronto.
